Polka Dot Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup corn oil margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup pecans (chopped)

Directions

Cream margarine and sugars. Blend in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; add milk, mixing well. Stir in chocolate pieces, cherries and nuts. Place rounded teaspoons of dough on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

I love these cookies. I just made a batch of them. I make them at Christmastime because it brings back memories of when I was a little girl. My mother has made these for as long as I remember and has passed along the recipe to me. I'm so glad that someone else has this recipe and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
