I kept my two leather bags together, 1 purple and 1 white. Due to moisture and heat purple stain has gotten on the white purse. Please tell me what I should do. I have tried thinner, etc. Nothing is working.

Request: Removing Dye That Transferred Onto a Leather Purse

Archived on 08/24/2009

My new black cotton top has caused black dye to rub off on my pink leather purse and also on my yellow purse. I have tried rubbing alcohol and also hair spray. It does nothing. Any suggestions?

I think using a specialty product would be best when it comes to removing dye transfer on leather. When using on test products you run the risk of causing more damage. Here is a leather stain remover: furnitureclinic.co.uk. (04/29/2008)
