Yes, sometimes. I have learned a few tricks over the years, though, of prolonging their life. For instance, tomatoes will stay fresher longer if, when you bring them home, you will place them in a zip-lock bag before refrigerating them. Apples will stay fresh for a very long time if you refrigerate them. Also, when cutting an onion, if you will not need all of it, cut a slice from the top & leave the root in tact. Then wrap the remainder tightly with plastic wrap before refrigerating. The onion will stay fresh & will not dry out before your next use, plus using plastic wrap instead of foil will allow you to see what's inside so you will not forget about it & go cut another one. Cuts down on waste.
