Last night my dog pooped all over the floor. I have tried everything I can think of to clean it up. I have tried Nature's Miracle, Resolve, Folex, 2 different carpet cleaner machines w/cleaning solution, and a vinegar recipe I found online. Nothing works. Does anyone have an idea as to what to do or try?

Since you've already tried so many products on this already you might want to call a professional carpet cleaner and ask them what they suggest but be sure you tell them all of the things you've tried because they each contain assorted chemicals that may have already set the stain because of interaction. You could also try, in a non-conspicuous place like your closet, to test spray hydrogen peroxide (3% USP that you can get at the grocery store or pharmacy and might even already have on hand) and that might work because it has a slght 'lifting' effect.

I've been there! We have two dogs and between mishaps, poops and pukes (ew!) we've had our time of it keeping up with the stains.

You must purchase, and always have on hand, Planet Urine. Just search for it online and you'll find it. It works!! I can honestly say that this product has changed my life. It even removed several old KoolAid and Amoxicillin stains that I had written off as permanent accessories to our house!

I don't work for them, I don't get anything from them, but I rave whenever I can. I would purchase this product even if I didn't have pets. It will get out just about any stain.

They have a "try it" or skeptical sample or something like that, that is very reasonable, if you want to go on the cheap. It is rather pricey, but you only need to use a very small amount.

Best of luck!

Go to Wal Mart, Home Depot or even the grocery store and buy a can of Spot Shot. It's a blue can with an orange cap. You'll find it with the carpet cleaners. I haven't found anything yet that it won't remove. In my case, it was cat poop. It worked.

How can I remove dog poop stains from my carpet?

Use a steam cleaner definitely. Use hot tap water and 1 cup Resolve carpet cleaner and only press handle going forward and don't spray (handle) when coming backwards. The key is to do this slowly. Good luck. (04/09/2009)

Do steam cleaners take out dog poop stains? I have a beige carpet and my dog pooped everywhere. How do I get those stains out? A steam cleaner?

Yes, a rented steam cleaner will get the stains out. You can pre-treat them with a thin paste of OxyClean and water (test and make sure your carpet is not lightened by this). Then run the steam cleaner over it 4-5 times until the stain disappears. Don't try to save money and use some other soap in the steam cleaner. Go ahead and get the mondo expensive stuff they sell. I have never found a good alternative. For the last go-over, use clear water to try to rinse the soap out of the carpet. Then do a once over with no water, just to suck up what moisture is left in the carpet. Say goodbye to those poop stains! (04/21/2008)

Buy a can of Spot Shot. You can get it at Wal Mart or probably any grocery store, where you find the other carpet cleaners. I have cats, not dogs, but it removes any stain they make. I haven't found anything yet that it won't remove. (04/22/2008)

I have cats who sometimes have tiny "accidents" and stain our cream colored carpets. I've found this wonderful product called Zero Odor that works like a charm. It was sold on a TV informercial and is now sold online. Works on odors and stains, I was really surprised how well it works on old stains too. Even will take care of urine. (04/22/2008)

I swear by Nature's Miracle which is a white bottle with red lettering, at Petsmart. I have dogs and cats and it has worked with every accident. (04/24/2008)

I have also found that a mixture of baking soda and water made into a paste works great. I have used this on pee and poop stains and on blood stains. (11/28/2008)
