My iron had some residue on it and then left marks a new cotton T shirt. Its left a black mark. Can I take the mark off?

Depending on what the black mark is, you can use an old wash cloth. Just heat up the iron, stick the cloth on the black mark and iron over. Lift the washcloth, and hopefully the black stuff will come off on the cloth. I have done this with candle wax in carpet, and it works. Just depends on what the black stuff is.
