Craft Uses for Thick Pieces of Foam

I got some thick strips of foam free from a yard sale thinking I could make some homemade stamps for making greeting cards. This is the wrong type of foam for that project. This type is more for stamping paint on the wall; I am not interested in that idea. I am looking for other craft or home uses for this stuff rather than simply throwing it away any thoughts?
