To remind myself for an upcoming event or task days, or even months in advance, I send myself a Free Greeting card from Yahoo. I schedule it to be sent the day before it happens, and forget about it. When I check my daily emails, it appears and reminds me the day before it's due.

My way prob isn't as uplifting, but since I'm visually impared, I usually set reminderson my Outlook calendar instead. A little window pops up to remind me of all kinds of things: things to do, calls to make, as well as birthdays and anniversaries.
I also receive reminder emails for some events from a site called something like "Set Birthday Alarms." Except I haven't visited the site in so long, I've forgotten my login info, lol! This site sends a couple of reminder emails for each event, but if you want to enter events, you have to do so in groupsof 10.

I send an email to myself about important events/occasions coming up. I always read my mail each day so it works really well. Sometimes notes get misplaced.
