When cleaning the kitchen after a meal, spray the stove area with cleaner first, then leave it to allow the cleaner to work. Do another task. When you get back to the stove, it will wipe clean-no scrubbing.

Can I use any cleaner on my black flat top stove as long as it is not abrasive?

Arm and Hammer oven cleaner works with baking soda. It works well. I'm not sure if it has any other chemicals besides baking soda and possibly vinegar.

I spray my stove before we sit down to dinner and then easily wipe when I clean after the meal. But since I try to stay away from chemicals, I've found that vinegar in a spray bottle works well also.
