When cleaning the kitchen after a meal, spray the stove area with cleaner first, then leave it to allow the cleaner to work. Do another task. When you get back to the stove, it will wipe clean-no scrubbing.
Arm and Hammer oven cleaner works with baking soda. It works well. I'm not sure if it has any other chemicals besides baking soda and possibly vinegar. Susan from ThriftyFun
I spray my stove before we sit down to dinner and then easily wipe when I clean after the meal. But since I try to stay away from chemicals, I've found that vinegar in a spray bottle works well also.
