While visiting my friend, her neighbors dog jumped up on the back of our van and his nails raked down the back window leaving 4 long scratches from each paw. Any ideas how how we can get this out? It looks horrible and will decrease the value when we trade it in.

Thanks!
Lorrie from Marmora, Ontario

Thriftiest method of all would be to take the dog's owner to small claims court and make him/her pay for the damages. Your insurance might cover this, but the problem is that you'd probably get hit with higher rates. :-(

Take the car to a glass shop that replaces windshields. They have a product that will fill in the scratches. The product was made by NOVA but they may have changed names.

if you can find it, paste window cleaner will sometimes work as a buffer paste. you will have to rub like the dickens if you don't have an electric buffer or a buffer attachment for a drill.
