What can I do with used cat litter?
greersville from Indiana
Filter out the clumps and you can use it to clean up oil spills in the garage or wherever. Just pour over spill and let sit for a bit then sweep the litter back and forth a few times.
It's not a good idea to re-use used kitty litter whether it's clay or clumping because cat feces carries disease (actually all meat eating creature feces can spread disease) ... Even clumping litter has been contaminated simply because the feces have been on it ...
All litter, including the 'clumps' should be disposed of properly ... Here's an article you should read ... You may need to 'zoom in' to read it ...
Throw it out in the trash...there is no good (or safe) use for used kitty litter.
We use it to place around our flowers and shrubs in our yard as a mulch/fertilizer. Has worked great on our morning glories, roses, hollyhocks and peonies. I suppose some plants might not do well with the acid content, but used spareingly, we have had no problems so far.
