Crab Puffs

Something different, and simple, but fancy enough for guests. This is something that can be made ahead, and kept in the freezer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package English muffins (6 pack size)
  • 1 stick softened margarine
  • 1 7 oz. jar Old English sharp cheddar cheese (sold in refrigerated section of your grocery store)
  • 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1-7 oz. can of crab meat

Directions:

Split the English muffins in half. Mix the first 6 ingredients together well. Add the drained, canned crab meat and mix well. Spread the mixture on the muffin halves and cut them into fourths. Freeze at least 30 minutes.

When ready to serve, remove them from the freezer, place them on a cookie sheet, and broil until puffy, bubbly and slightly brown. You may garnish them with a slice of stuffed olive, a bit of pimento, a small snip of your favorite herb, etc.
