Will this work with whole wheat bread?

Serve Hot or Cold.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3-1/2 cups milk {2% works too}
  • 2 tsps. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon (2 tsps, if you prefer)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups bread cubes
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

Mix all ingredients together until bread cubes are thoroughly wet. Place mixture in a greased crockpot. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, or until a knife stuck in middle of the pudding comes out clean.

Adding one sliced of banana with the raisins makes it yummy!

This sounds quick and easy. I think I'll use cinnamon raisin bread for the bread cubes. Thanks for sharing. (01/12/2007)
