My 10 year old daughter loves spelling and math quiz websites. But I am very strict about what she looks at. There are some very weird 'kid sites' out there. Can anyone please advise me of a site that is educational and 'safe'.

We live in New Zealand where we use the metric system, so if anyone can help I would very much appreciate their advice.

Thanks

Ang

A few years ago at a hospital book fair, I bought a book entitled "The Internet Kids & Family Yellow Pages", 2nd edition. It is really just that: a reference for topics which are alphabetically listed, along with a paragraph describing each website. This book is great! (I am very strict also) It was published in 1997 and has probably been replaced by a newer version. The author is Jean Armour Polly and in looking up her information for you, I see she also has a website: <http://www.netmom.com/>
the publishing company for the book is:
Osborne/Mc Graw-Hill
2600 Tenth Street
Berkeley, California 94710
U.S.A.

Of course a pop up blocker helps as well so your daughter doesn't end up where she shouldn't be. Good luck
