Memphis, TN has a lot of crime, as most places these days do. To guard against purse snatching, when I buckle my seat belt I also buckle at least one handle of my purse into it. This also comes in handy when I need something out of my purse while I'm driving. I know that my purse is always down to my right and so I can reach right in it without having to look over in the passenger seat or the floor board. Plus, if a car wreck were to happen, there is less chance that the valuable contents of my purse are going to be thrown everywhere and anywhere.

What a great idea. I never once thought of that. Going to try that this noon when I go out.

That's a really good idea! Just yesterday after I finished shopping I dumped my purse out of the seat onto the parking lot. I was lucky that time having thought to zip it up after I cashed out with my purchases! Thinking to close it is a big plus! I don't always do that & have had everything tump out of it in the middle of the water dept. as I payed a bill ! How embarrassing!

Honey's mom : I also often buckle my bag into the child seat in the cart! It gets rather heavy on my shoulder after going to 3 stores! I am a shoulder bag lady; never took much to handbags or clutches. My back & shoulders ached all the rest of the day & into the night from having the weight of my bag to carry for so long! Part of it may have been from driving my pickup - it is a 24 mile round trip to & from town + the added milage in town between dads & dinner & then shopping. I'm giving your post a THUMB UP for making me think! Thanks

I do this once in awhile by mistake. Now I'm going to do it every time on purpose!

Great idea. I also buckle by purse to the shopping cart seat belt for safekeeping.

Great idea! I make it a habit to lock my doors as soon as I get in the car, especially if is late at night. I had not thought about a roll-over.

What a super idea. I rolled my truck two years ago during a blizzard in which my purse and many other things were thrown out of the truck. I hunted and hunted in the snow on my hands and knees for my purse. I was alone and thankfully not hurt badly but in my purse was my identification someone would have needed if I were. If I had only thought of buckling it in. Kudos to you!
