Somebody (can't remember who, sorry!) recently requested ice cream recipes without eggs. Here's one finally:

Ingredients

  • 10 cups light cream
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions

Pour cream into gallon-size freezer. Gradually add sugar, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Stir in vanilla and salt. Freeze as directed by the manufacturer of your ice cream maker.

I'm the one that requested that. I'm allergic to eggs and I was not able to find a recipe that didn't have eggs. unless you were going to provide a recipe without eggs (a recipe, not a list of ingredients with no measurements) I'm not sure why you even posted.

Well Jane, when I look in my cookbooks, I have more ice cream recipes with egg than without....May depend on where you live.

Why in the world would anyone request a recipe for eggless ice cream when most ice cream is eggless?

Ice cream is simply cream (or cream and milk) plus sugar with whatever you wish to flavor the ice cream with: nuts, fruits, herbs, extracts, etc.

Ice cream based on a custard, or French ice cream, is another sort of product, rarely made.
