My little girl Trixie is a Cairen Terrier. She will be 2 in June and she is afraid when people come in and she urinates. Is there something that can be done about this problem, I have tried some many different things, but have had no success. I don't like putting her in her cage, because even though she urinates she needs to be in a social atmosphere. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I think if you do a general search you will find info. Just make sure it's all positive & reward oriented. I don't agree with a lot of what Caesar does. He's a bully & pushes dominance over the dog to much. My dogs are very well behaved & I just give them love, direction & I'm consistent. I've never had a dog do that so I'm not sure what to do. Maybe she needs to be gradually introduced to people who come over instead of thrust her right into the whole situation. Or maybe have her on a leash outside when they come so she will urinate outside. Perhaps have them come up to her one at a time so she's not overly afraid or excited. It sounds like a smaller dog & I think they have the problem more than larger dogs.

She is just nervous. Just let her calm down and she will eventually get out of the habit...NOrmally, young dogs do this, but she must be very excitable and has the same problem.

Yep. The Dog Whisperer, Ceasar Milan. I don't have a dog, but if I did I would do EVERYTHING that man says to, he is magic with dogs. Either buy his book (at Costco) or watch the show on TV The Dog Whisperer or maybe a website? He's a genius when it comes to what makes a dog tick, he's fixed that problem many a times on this show. Good luck!
