No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3 cups quick oats

Directions

Stir together butter, cocoa and sugar. Bring to boil and cook one minute. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, vanilla and oats. Stir well. Drop on wax paper and let cool.

I have had this recipe for years, don't remember where I got it

Mine are still very soft. I let them boil a minute.

Where is the milk and what vanilla? I have made these before I just cook milk with the sugar and cocoa and butter and do not use vanilla. I also have had them not turn out if I do not boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Maybe this is different, mine does not call for peanut butter.

Just a quick question; there's no milk mentioned in the directions. Do you heat it along with the butter, cocoa, and sugar?

Actually, this candy is called "Boiled Oatmeal Cookies!" A great recipe for Christmas and a quick treat anytime when you want something fast.
