Site has quite a few recipes using the caramelized onions. Read the beginning of the recipe and it tells you how to cook the onions.

The slower you cook the onions the sweeter they will be. Don't get in a hurry and turn up the heat to try and cook them faster.

The carmelized onions I have made were very easy. Rub a little lite olive oil in a cast iron skillet and very slowly cook the sliced onions (Vidalias are best, but any sweet onion will do).

Their natural sugar carmelizes during slow cooking and they turn out sweet and delicious. They cook down considerably so be sure to cook a lot. Just stir occasionally and don't get impatient. A healthy veg due to no added sugar.

Caramelized onions
Ingredients
about 3 lb onions
about 1 stick butter or 1/2 c olive oil

Instructions
Wash, peel and cut onions into quarters Add butter or oil to onions in crock pot and that is ALL. Cook on low until collapsed, browned, and caramelized.

When I was a kid, for a quick meal, we'd brown hot dogs in a cast iron skilet. Then we'd take them out and carmelize onions in it. We'd put the hot dogs in a bun and top with the carmelized onions.

YUM. I still like this, and I don't even like hot dogs, but the onions make them taste so special.
