Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups frozen cherries, thawed, drained
- 2 Tbsp. confectioner's sugar
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in vanilla and chocolate. In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to butter mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour. Fold in cherries. Scrape into lightly greased and floured 9 inch heart or square shaped baking pan.
Bake 45-55 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool on rack 20 minutes. Unmold and cool completely. Decorate with confectioner's sugar, dusted over doily. Makes about 8 servings.
