I have black kitchen appliances, new Italian maple cabinets, and beige ceramic tile floor. The counters will be stained concrete, probably mottled brown and black. What colors can I paint the walls?

To go with the concrete effect, you might try what we did. We used small stones and applied them to the wall with an epoxy. Of course we only did above the sink. but it looks great. I chose a wallpaper to offset everything.

I think with the browns and black that I would stick to more earth tones. A Pumpkin or Sunflower would be nice if you like bright colors. For more muted tones I would suggest a light Avocado or a Harvest Gold. I feel those tones would complement the maple and the black appliances :) It would also depend on how much light you have in the area.

How about something bright to offset all those earth tones? Like a bright lime green or even a bright turquoise?
