Helping a Child With Back to School Anxiety

My niece is starting 7th grade and she is worried? Any tips on how to survive and fit in? Although she is a very popular girl at school she can't stop worrying.

If she's popular as you say I'd think she already fits in. I'd worry more is she were shy and withdrawn. Kids these days have a lot to be anxious about but I'd try to keep as normal routine as possible and make sure she gets enough sleep. Know this doesn't help much but keep loving her as I see you do and spend some one-on-one time with her to keep her mind occupied.

My granddaughter is my source, she is now a Freshman. Your 7th grader should try to not be different than other girls (wearing clothes differently, hair with pony in a certain position, and things that might draw attention to your self) (girls can be mean). Get involved with sports, whether she is athletic or not, she will make more friends by joining in, than any other way. The time to be a trend setter isn't a 7th grade girl. My granddaughter is popular, she smiles at everyone, including teachers.
