Chicken Alberghetti

This is a great dish for when you may be having company.


  • 6 chicken breast fillets
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • Ad
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 8 oz. prepared spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • butter
  • Parmesan cheese


Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dip in egg, roll in crumbs. Saute' in 1/2 cup butter until browned. Dilute spaghetti sauce with half and half. Reserve 2 tablespoons. Pour sauce in casserole. Add chicken. Top each chicken breast with 1 slice of mozzarella and Swiss cheese. Spoon reserved sauce on top. Dot with butter, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake, covered, for 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees F.
