I used all generic stuff and it still tasted great. Make sure to blend really well. I put mine through a sifter at least three times. To pass out I put into baby bottle inserts. One cup makes three servings as 1/3 of a cup and 6 oz of milk or water make a serving. Give away with three marshmallows, two Hershey's Kisses and a candy cane in a mug and you have given away the ingredient for Snowman Soup.
This is so good and lasts forever. One batch usually gets my family through most of the winter. I have never made it using Nestle' Quik though, I have always used a 16 oz canister of Hot Cocoa Mix. I disagree with imaqt1962 too. Generics work well except for the powdered milk, I have only had good results with the name brand, nothing else tastes right.
