Could someone help me with pop ups on my PC? They are driving me crazy. It started about a week ago. Not one will pop up, but several. Almost seems like it starts with a Microsoft Ex pop up. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm with them on the firefox thing, I love firefox. With firefox you can click on tools then add ons and get the ABP ad blocker plus add on, I almost never get pop ups, even with the ads on web pages. It may not get all of them but it will get most of them. But with that many pop ups, I would suggest uninstalling any antivirus program you have and go to www.download.com and get AVG FREE.

I also suggest you uninstall any anti-spyware program you have and get ADAWARE from www.download.com. I am a computer programmer and I use these two everyday. if you don't mind paying for programs, you can get REGVAC, it will scan and clean your registry, that may help with any problems you are having with your computer.

I don't know if you use facebook at all, but if you do please be careful there is a virus on there that none of the anti-virus programs are picking up. Got it the other day and I cant find the exact file it came in, so I had to wipe my computer clean and do a fresh install of windows.

If you get a lot of viruses, you can download ubuntu and run that instead of your windows operating system if you do NOT use WIFI OR Microsoft Office. With ubuntu (linux based opperating system) you get openoffice.org. it is essentially the same as microsoft office, only free. It is supposed to be able to save the program as a microsoft office document, but it does not always, most of the time it saves it as a .docx document instead of a .doc and sometimes does not open right when someone tries to open the file on microsoft office.

Usually, if you have that many popups, not all the time, but most, you have some kind of virus or adware on your computer.
One, Do what many have said and download Firefox, yes, it will probably take a few days to learn ALL of the options that you will use on a regular basis, but this browser works wonders. I have also not had a pop up in forever.
Two, download "adaware" or "Spybot:Search and Destroy" programs and run them. I am sure it will find something malware-related on your computer.
Above all, Don't click on popups unless 1) you know it was supposed to pop up, or 2) to hit the UPPER MOST X to close it.
If you still need help email me at ashley.foster4922 @ gmail . com with a subjec that I could easily figure out ... i get a lot of spam and go crazy with the delete button! lol
Hope that helps!

I use Yahoo as my main page, when you first click on the big E of Internet explorer. Yahoo has a free tool bar that has the anti pop up controller (cause sometimes you have to disable it to receive something you WANT to pop up) and it has a free virus scanner. All for free! Just go to Yahoo and download it.

visit www.abundantlifeessentials.com/free_computer_info.htm and download free mozilla firefox and stop using ie to use the web. Also download otherprograms you see a need for. Internet explorer causes all those pop ups. I have been using mozilla for 4 years and have not had 1 pop up. Aol, people pc, earthlink etc.. all use ie.
