M and M Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 lg. Egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 cups M & M's, plain
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts, optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, beat in egg and vanilla. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in M and M's and nuts, if using. Drop by heaping Tbsp., about 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; cool completely on wire racks. Store in tightly covered container.
Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
