Identify the insect first and make sure that's what is causing the problem. There could be many reasons for brown grass, but if it is a bug, or a grub doing the damage, you want to find out what type of insect or grub, because the type of soil, watering, etc, will draw grubs to the area. In the worst case, you may have to treat areas of your lawn with chemical, but I would only do that as a last resort.

Once you find out what is causing it, GOOGLE it, (tons of articles!) and look for ways to take care of the problem. You might also take the bug to your area lawn and garden store and talk to a professional about the problem. There is always someone who knows a wonderful trick for solving lawn problems. Good Luck!
