Buttermilk Brownies

Ingredients
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (opt.)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Brownie Frosting:

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 5 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar

Directions

Bring margarine, cocoa and water to a boil. Add remaining ingredients and blend. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes.

For frosting: Bring margarine, cocoa and milk to a boil. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Spread on hot brownies. May top with pecan halves, if desired. May use only 1/2 of this amount of frosting.
