RE: Orange Julius

The Orange Julius was delicious. I served it at our 5th grade girl scout Christmas party today, 12/4/04, and it was a hit! Tasted like what you get in the mall. Thanks for sharing. (12/04/2004)

RE: Orange Julius

This is one of my favorite recipes, but might I add, put a dash of nutmeg into the whole thing. It just gives it that last "touch"! :) (07/10/2007)

Recipe: Copycat Orange Julius

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp. pasteurized egg white or egg white substitute*
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
Combine all if the ingredients except ice, in a blender and blend on high speed for 15 to 30 seconds or until the sugar is dissolved. Add the ice and blend for another 10 to 15 seconds or so, until most of the ice is crushed, but still a bit coarse.

*Note: Please do not use raw unpasturized eggs. They can cause salmonella.
