Yes december and january are the best time to buy fabric in vermont. At joann fabrics there are many sales the weekend after thanksgiving. $1.00 a yard for flannel. in January there is a 60% off clearance sale....1.00yd=0.40yd and so forth. These sales repeat every year. My favorite fabric is found at church sales.....vintage, (and usually needs to be washed) but always unique!
