Garden: Ladyslippers

On my way home from visiting my son in Lake City, Michigan, we came across these ladyslippers along the road. They were all along it for about 2 blocks. I haven't seen ladyslippers since I was a child and I'm 60 now. They were beautiful and memories they brought back, wow!

In our area we have yellow ladyslippers like this. They are hard to find, as they like undeveloped woody areas, but this year I saw some growing in the ditch in the National Park, and then we found lots of them in a picnic site. The yellow ones are very beautiful too!

I've heard of this flower but have never seen any. Wow, I'd love to have some too.
