The perfect gift for your girlfriend would be a soft fleece tie blanket with military/USA print on it. Go to www.mysoftblanket.com and click on "blanket photographs" to see what I'm talking about. If you can't ship it to her, it would be a great gift to give her when she comes home! :)

Our family currently lives in China, and one of the things we love to have sent that is light-weight, is tea. You could send him some tea and maybe a chocolate (or more!) and a little card. On the card you could have a picture of you, a note, a poem or scripture and a time when you will both sit down and have tea simulatneously. Invite him to a long-distance tea party. =)

As cheezy as this is.... While my husband was serving in Afghanistan I sent him a pillow case with my picture on it. Take any picture into inkley's and get it put on a transfer paper. Then simply iron it onto a new pillow case. I know it's cheezy, but I know all of the soldiers like pictures from home. You could even have everyone write fun messages on a pillow case and just send the words of encouragement, or her favorite poem or scripture.

She has to register to get on the mailing list, I believe. But, you can choose what to send her. It's a great site and service.
