Ingredients:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup salad oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • about 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

Melt chips. Combine with sugar and oil. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to chocolate mixture; stir in nuts. Chill dough. Drop teaspoon of dough in powdered sugar. Roll to coat. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degrees F oven for 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

These were great. I used a gluten free flour mixture, and that was the only change. They turned out perfect!

Ingredients

  • 3 squares chocolate, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • Advertisement

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Directions

In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and remove it from the heat. Add the oil and sugar and blend together well. Add 1 egg, at a time, and beat well after each egg and add the vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and nuts and add to the chocolate. Chill the dough for several hours or overnight. Shape into balls and roll in the powdered sugar. Bake on a greased sheet at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.
