Think out of the box and use unusual materials. I ran into some acrylic hair "hand braid" for 99 cents, and it's great for stringing my pendants! It's strong, trendy, the right width to string pendants, and a nice color, too! So now I have oodles of "cord" to string all those orphan pendants in my jewelry boxes. Just resurrected one!

Another idea is to use some of those cool yarns they have out now...especially the little bit wider ribbon-style yarns. Take several lengths and a drop of super glue on each end neatly tucked into one of those crimp over clasps (find at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Rings 'n Things, etc.)....voila, a jazzy necklace....wear like that or add your favorite pendant, fused glass pendant, shell, etc.
