To cut your craft costs, it's best to stock up at Target during the summer when they have their back to school sales. White glue bottles, crayons, markers, rulers, kid scissors are all the best price. They don't go bad in a year so stock up. Markers make great prizes for your child's birthday party too! Another time of year to get craft stuff is the day after Christmas if you have a Stats store. Everything is 50 percent off, no coupon required. Stock up on beads, fasteners, ribbon, hot glue melt, etc.
At our Stats store I think the 50% off everything is good until New Years. So there are less crowds toward the end of the week or later in the day on the 26th. They open at 4 a.m. ? check the ad on Christmas Day. But there is also the chance of less choice. But most of the early risers the day after go for big ticket Christmas Items not so much in the craft department. The miniatures (villages) are not included in the 50% off. I went once at early opening, yes there are lots and lots of people but they do have added staff on and additional cash registers. But yes expect a crowd until noon on the 26th.

Here in Pasadena, Stat's is a real bargain, except for two things: 1. You really have to like Christmas. 2. You have to tolerate a real mob scene.
