String Bean Salad
- 1 can cut green beans, drained
- 1 can wax beans, drained
- 1 can kidney beans, drained
- 1 green pepper, cut up
- 1 onion, sliced up in slivers
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup salad oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Let set in covered bowl several hours or overnight. Drain and serve.

We make this recipe but call it "Three Bean Salad". A good variation is to add an additional or different variety of beans or chick-peas (garbanzo). We also do not drain the liquid. It keeps till it's gone & gets better each day. Great picnic side dish that is easy to make & take.
