Sound Proofing a Timber Frame House

I have a timber framed house. How can I make the internal plasterboard walls, and the floor between floors more soundproof, cheaply?

I don't know if you get eggs in cardboard or Styrofoam cartons? If so, stuff some batting in each crater and put some tape in front to keep it there. Then, put each one on the wall with thumbtacks, flat side to the wall. Hope that helps.
