Make More Than You Need, Spend Less Than You Earn!
I learned early on that if I did these two things, I would be financially solvent.
I always worked more when I needed more money, and I learned to not overspend. It took several years, of course, to learn these disciplines, but it works and I felt it was worth sharing. Good luck!

This is a deceptively simple concept. Now, if only we could convince many young folk and a few older ones to heed this advice!
