Scenery: Sunset on a Beach (Texas - 1940's)

This photo was found in the collection of a great-aunt. It is a photograph taken by her son of her two grandsons, who died in a polio epidemic in 1948. This is probably on a Texas beach, although I am not sure of the location. I never knew these boys but remember being told about their tragic deaths.

What beautiful photos & how sad that these boys died that way. We have to remember & be grateful for all the serums & preventative shots we have now.

Those should be framed & hung on a wall-they are hauntingly beautiful!

Very poignant. Makes me wish I had some of my mom's old photos and the equipment to digitize them. So many memories.

What an awesome photo! It is even more poignant knowing the tragic story behind it. I agree with others - I would frame these and keep them always with the story enclosed in the frame for future generations.
