Here's a video of our new pet. Rocco is a male and is a mix between a Dog and Lion. He may be a little strange genetically, but we love him just the same as we would a dog. That may sound like growling, but that's how Rocco purrs when you rub behind his ears.

It was our attempt at an April Fool's Joke. Rocco is indeed a Chow Chow. We've had him about a month. He's different than most Chows in that respect, he seems to love everyone. He spent most of his life in a kennel at a puppy mill so may be so glad just to be able to stretch out and run around that he loves everything. He's about 4 1/2 years old and a big ball of fluffy, growly love. He does have the purple tongue.

He's beautiful! I do hope you realise that he's a Chow, not really an exotic half lion mix. Enjoy him, he looks almost exactly like a chow I used to have named Jazz and he was one of my best dogs ever! Chows are known to be very loyal, but often bond to one person and don't always accept others, especially kids. Jazz was great with my (his) kids, but not to be trusted with others. Jazz had to be put in his "room" when kids came to visit, I could just never trust him although he never hurt anyone he acted like he would. I just want you to be aware of that tendency with the breed, maybe just look around the net for more info. Jazz sounded just like yours too! He scared me horribly the first time I heard him snore! Enjoy your wonderful new pet! I really had a great time with mine and miss him alot so I hope you have many great years together! Does he have a purple tongue? Jazz did and it was really cool looking!

Dear Miss April F,

I think he might have a little Santa in him.
