Frozen Chocolate Banana Pops


  • 6 bananas
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 6 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
  • Popsicle sticks



Peel bananas and cut in half lengthwise. Put Popsicle stick in each half and freeze. Melt chocolate in double boiler; add oil. Do not boil, just barely keep melted. Dip frozen bananas and completely coat with chocolate. Roll in nuts and return to freezer. Work with just a few at a time, keeping others in freezer.

Wow, interesting to see this. I am 69 now. When I was a kid, less than 10, at the movie theater I went to my favorite snack was a frozen chocolate banana. Mom gave me two dimes, admission was 14 cents. The other 6 cents was for my candy or usually my banana. Memories here.
