Get away from the microwave for popcorn. Cook the popcorn from the popcorn in a jar, using a Teflon pot and a cover. This way, you have nothing fattening in your popcorn. Then if you'd like to add something for a little flavor, that's all you have to worry about.

Here's some ideas for topping:

  • Romano or Parmesan Cheese
  • Garlic or Onion Powder

You can put it a paper bag (lunchbags are good) and put the bag in the microwave. Presto! Microwave popcorn.

I use a hot air popper and spray butter on it. mmm Good! You can sprinkle on taco seasoning, garlic powder, cinnamon & sugar or onion powder for a different treat!

This is the only way I make popcorn anymore. There are such scary chemicals in microwave popcorn and loose popcorn is so much cheaper. You can make as much or as little as you want and need no special equipment. We even make it over the fire when we go camping. I use a little canola oil and then afterwards just a little salt or occasionally butter and parmesan cheese. YUM!
