Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups applesauce
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 cup raisins
  • confectioners' sugar

Directions:

Mix flour with soda and spices. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in flour mixture. Add applesauce, nuts, and raisins; stir until blended. Pour into greased 10x15 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup seedless raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
Topping:
  • 1 cup corn flakes, crushed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter

Directions

Cream sugar and shortening, add applesauce. Sift together flour, soda, spices and salt. Add flour mixture to creamed sugar mixture. Stir until smooth. Mix in raisins and nuts. Spread in greased 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. Mix crushed corn flakes, sugar, nuts and melted butter. Sprinkle on top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.
