Basil Garlic Parmesan Sauce

A completed bowl of basil garlic parmesan sauce.Normally you'll need pine nuts or some nut alternative for pesto but I don't have any on hand. I omit the nuts and it still tastes as good.

I make small batches throughout the week to use in our sandwiches, toss with orzo, and pasta since we have an abundance of basil growing right now.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: A little over 1 cup

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sweet basil
  • 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • dash of salt
  • dash of pepper

Steps:

  1. Pulse basil and olive oil in food processor.
  2. Adding oil to basil in a fodo processor.
     
    The basil garlic and oil mixture combined in a food processor.
     
  3. Add parmesan cheese, garlic cloves until smooth and combined.
  4. Adding parmesan cheese to the food processor.
     
  5. Ready to use as a sauce for your bagels, sandwiches, to toss with orzo, or pastas, baguette appetizers and so forth!
