Open crescent rolls; make squares out of 2 each triangles. Mix rest of ingredients together and fill squares. Bring all four points to the middle and press dough together. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Makes 4 large squares.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese with 2 tablespoons margarine. Add chicken, onion, salt, pepper, milk and pimento; mix well. Separate rolls into 4 squares, sealing the cut edges. Place 1/4 of the chicken mixture on each square. Pull the 4 corners of each square together at the center and twist to seal. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush squares with remaining margarine and sprinkle croutons over all. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

I have been making Chicken Squares for many years. A dear friend made it for a dinner party and then shared the recipe. It is easy and looks so nice as tho you've gone to a lot of trouble. My recipe does not call for the pimiento but otherwise is the same. I always serve chicken gravy with it, mashed potatoes and a green vegetable. I like to make this dish when I have leftover cooked chicken. (07/17/2009)
