My blowdryer just went out for this reason. I never thought to clean it. Now I clean it weekly.

Hi Judy...Your combo is the best method!

Fellow thrifters....Never use canned air on a hairdryer. It makes the situation much worse as it can push the dust back into the dryer.

This can and (and in my case did) result in a quick and spark filled death to the machine. Lesson learned the hard way!

I was just going to say this ^^^ I watched a friend use canned air on one and it just died after. I do the toothbrush vacuuming too :)

I use an old toothbrush also, but I hadn't thought of the vacuum. Thanks for this tip.
