Drying Frozen Tomatoes in the Oven Tomatoes?

I've accidentally frozen some large tomatoes that are still on the vine. Can I make them into sun-dried tomatoes in my oven?

Normally you make sun-dried tomatoes on a cookie sheet by cutting the tomatoes into slices and placing them on the sheet with some sea salt on them. Frozen tomatoes when defrosted have a different texture and consistency than fresh tomatoes have. A lot of them have a lot more water in them than fresh tomatoes do. I do not find anywhere online that a person has ever used a frozen tomatoes to make a sun-dried tomatoes in the oven. I know it is very possible to use fresh tomatoes to sun dry them in your oven.

I feel the texture of your tomatoes have changed now and the results would not be the same. I can suggest that you try one or two of your frozen tomatoes and slice them and place them on a cookie sheet in the oven to see if this works. I hope it will work for you but I don't think this one is possible.

The problem with freezing tomatoes without blanching first, the water crystals damage the structure. The best you could do is make tomato paste from it.

I hope you were able to salvage your tomatoes into something useful to you.
I have never been able to salvage fresh frozen tomatoes into anything but something to add to soup or when making something that needed extra liquid and a tomato taste was okay.
