Faulty Vacuum Cleaner Blew Ash Throughout House?

My daughter was vacuuming her fireplace with a dry vac to clean out the ash. After she finished she turned around to learn something had gone wrong with the vac and her house is covered with black ash, floors, painted and wallpapered walls, shelves, etc. Any advise on how to clean this up?

Use a dry cleaning sponge bought in hardware stores. Wipe the walls with downward and overlapping strokes.

I would clean walls first, then furniture, and everything else after. Even better, move it all outside for cleaning.

Then do walls and floors before bringing it back in. Wipe the soot off do not scrub.

Try the following

Step 1
HEPA filtered vacuum

Step 2
Lambs wool duster

Step 3
Dry cleaning sponge
