Georges Briard Clock Value?Hi, I have a mint condition signed Georges Briard clock. Glass mosaic with teak wood trim. Any idea of value? I bought it years ago at a garage sale for about $5.00.

Briard works are so beautiful - and in high demand according to Ebay sellers, one of whom is asking $500 US for the clock. Other items from this collection (stacking tables, bowl, etc.) seem more moderately priced. Thanks for sharing this wonderful mid-century craftsmanship!

This clock sold on Etsy. You could contact the seller and ask how much it sold for. www.etsy.com/.../wall-clock-by-georges-briard-mid...

I see that you have your clock listed on eBay for sale at $500.
Hopefully you will receive bids or offers.
Please let us know how the sale goes.

You might want to list your clock on sites like Facebook Marketplace, Etsy or PoshMark if it does not sell on eBay.

I did not find another clock like this one for sale or sold but other pieces by Georges Briard are priced in low to medium (no high prices) and you can check sold prices on eBay.

You can always ask about value on some online sites:

I see you are a newer seller or maybe just not sold a lot on this account. Please be very careful with this as fraudsters target new sellers with high priced items.

Do not take any offers where people want you to text them. That will always be fraud.

Also be very careful with the shipping. This will need double boxed with two or more inches around the item of solid padding like pool noodles or Styrofoam. Then the second box the same.

In not working order I feel the asking price is high, but it is so gorgeous that you may fetch that much! Will be watching!! Blessings on your venture!!

Yes , I do have it listed and was asking value so I dont get too low of a price for it. Another seller on Etsy sold his for about 450.00 so Im going by that since I cant find ANY other info on it or any others for sale. Accompanied him, these are hard to come by.

Georges Briard was an award winning mid-century designer. He was born in Ekaterinoslav, the Russian Empire in May 1917 (at the time when he was born, Ekaterinoslav was still part of the Russian Empire, although some sources mistakenly write that he was born in Ukraine). His birth name was Jakub Brojdo (as I understand it he was a Jew). In 1937 he moved to the U.S. and adopted the name Jascha Brojdo. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago where he earned his MFA. After being released from the Army in 1945 he began working with Max Wille in New York, whom he had met in art school. This Max Wille invented Brojdo's stage name: Briard was the name of the breed of the dog that Wille had recently lost, and Georges was a name whose sound he liked.

Georges Briard is popularly known for his signature dishware and glassware. Even though he died in 2005, his work is popular till date.

I see that CDC and Iceskater found a similar watch with a price of $ 500 www.ebay.com/.../402888565904?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid.... But as I see the seller has relisted this item with starting bid US $ 500, 0 bids. I think this price is too high. Georges Briard Mosaic Side Table sells for $ 495 www.chairish.com/.../1960s-georges-briard-mosaic-side..., Pair of Georges Briard Mosaic Top Tables for $ 675 www.chairish.com/.../pair-of-georges-briard-mosaic-top..., Georges Briard Stained Glass Mosaic Tray for $ 245 www.chairish.com/.../1960s-georges-briard-stained-glass...
You didn't write whether your watch is in working order, whether there are any scratches on the glass. The price depends on it. I think that if your watch is in working order, and there are no scratches, then the price is about $ 350-400.
