Flea control is very difficult and requires constant and long term solutions. The following article from vetmedicine will provide information about fleas, why they are so difficult to control and what you must do on a constant basis to try to control fleas. The specific problem you face is killing fleas on your dogs. However, as this article clarifies, you must continue to attack the flea problem in various ways and on a never ending cycle.

The main problem is that fleas lay eggs (average 50-60 day per female flea) that drop off the animal into your house. They soon hatch and then jump onto your pets to begin the cycle again. So you never truly rid your pets and house of fleas, you just try to keep the flea infestation to a low roar.

Frontline behind the ears kills fleas. However, it doesn't kill the ones on their bedding, in your carpet, etc. Shampoo or steam clean the carpets. Wash all bedding, including yours. Keep the dogs updated with Frontline and baths.
