Getting a Puppy After Losing One to Parvo?

I had a puppy 8 months ago that ended up getting parvo and I am thinking about getting a new one soon. Do you think it's at a great risk of getting parvo as well?

Parvo can live 6 months inside and up to a year outside. I would wait a year.

Make sure the new puppy has had a complete series of parvo vaccinations. Then he will be safe from parvo. You will need to clean your house and yard following directions to cleaning up after parvo.
